Sizing a POF bag for the actual product

Measure the full product shape, including protrusions and the clearance needed for insertion and sealing. Try the proposed bag on the actual product. Confirm dimensions, thickness and the closure or shrinking process. A flat bag measurement alone does not show whether it will fit a thick object. Keep the approved sample with the packing instructions.

Include handles, folded parts and protective inserts when measuring the product. Check its packed orientation, since a different direction can change the clearance needed. Send photographs or a sample where the shape is difficult to describe with dimensions alone.

Allow space for the approved closure without trapping the product or contaminating the sealing area. Try insertion and removal at the packing station. An apparently close fit may slow the process or lead operators to force the item into the bag.

Inspect the proposed bag after the complete closure or shrink process and routine handling. Keep the accepted bag dimensions, product orientation and equipment record together. Recheck the fit when a product, insert or grouping arrangement changes.

Confirm your specification

Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.

Product details are based on the GUDE catalogue and supplied photographs; operating guidance is general and must be verified on your equipment.
