Selecting adhesive tape for carton sealing

Carton-sealing tape must work with the carton surface, closure pattern and handling conditions. Clear and coloured rolls can serve general sealing; printed tape can add identification. Neither colour nor printing proves adhesive strength. Choose the tape after reviewing carton board quality, dust and storage conditions, and confirm the actual roll specification.

Start with the carton and its contents. The flap arrangement, board condition and load inside the box affect the closure. An overfilled or distorted carton places demands on the tape that a neatly closed empty sample does not represent.

Choose the appearance separately from the sealing requirement. Clear tape leaves more of the carton visible, while coloured or printed tape can assist identification. Confirm any artwork and check that essential product and shipping labels remain readable.

Evaluate the finished carton through the normal packing and storage route. Inspect tape ends, corners and the main closure after handling. Keep the accepted tape specification with the carton type and closure pattern so future orders reproduce the same combination.

Confirm your specification

Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.
