Setting up a comparative pallet wrapping trial
Before comparing films, make a stable pallet and protect sharp projections. Record the machine settings and wrapping pattern. Run each sample through the same handling checks and weigh the material used. Change one setting at a time, following the equipment instructions. Repeat the trial on representative loads before adopting a new standard; no fixed percentage saving is promised.
Label each trial pallet and film roll before starting. Use comparable goods and note any difference in carton condition, pallet quality or stacking. Those differences can otherwise be mistaken for an improvement or deterioration in film performance.
Observe the wrap from the base to the top while keeping clear of moving equipment. Look for necking, exposed corners, dragging tails and layers that separate. Stop and correct a setup problem before continuing the comparison.
After handling, photograph the same sides of each pallet and record movement or damage. Keep the successful setting and wrapping pattern together as a work instruction; changing either later requires a fresh check on the load.
Confirm your specification
Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.
Product details are based on the GUDE catalogue and supplied photographs; operating guidance is general and must be verified on your equipment.
