Wrinkles, holes and weak seals in POF packs

Wrinkles may reflect film size, airflow or the balance between heating and dwell time. Holes can arise at sharp edges or from excessive heat; weak seals can reflect the sealing process or contamination. Inspect where the defect begins. Adjust one factor at a time according to the equipment instructions and retain failed samples for comparison.

Separate defects visible before heating from those that appear afterwards. A tear made during product insertion requires a different investigation from a hole that appears in the tunnel. Keep samples from each stage to locate the starting point.

For recurring wrinkles, compare the film clearance and product position on several packs. For weak seals, check cleanliness, consistent contact and the approved sealing setup. Avoid compensating for a sealing fault by increasing heat elsewhere in the process.

After a correction, inspect both appearance and pack integrity. A smoother surface does not prove that the seal or contents are acceptable. Record the change and repeat normal handling before approving the revised process for a production run.

Confirm your specification

Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.

Product details are based on the GUDE catalogue and supplied photographs; operating guidance is general and must be verified on your equipment.
